before you buy any suspension part ask yourself

1. what do i need it for
2. what do i know about tuning a car or even doing suspension
3. what have i used in the past
4. what are others with the same car using and why.

you might change your mind about what you buy all togeather

what car, tire, ride height and intended use are the majority of your concern when doing upgrades

I've never messed around with Insight suspension before.

not possible, good ride and track can not be said in the same sentence. what you could do is buy a koni/gc setup with two sets of springs. say 300f/250r for the street and, well, the track rates are hard to suggest without knowing the rest of the car. your tire, weight and sway bars effect that choice. if you have a strong rear bar or one that mounts on the shock bolts to get rid of the levering effect of the factory bar you might like 500F 450R, possibly 500 on both ends. if you run a tight autocross course the rates change yet again. 450F and 500R would probably work better since you would be going after rotation.

as far as higher rates go, some run stock koni yellows up to 600ish lb/in. personally i have 500lb fronts and 430lb rears with a strong rear sway. the shocks are cranked to firm and the rebound dampening isn't bad.

Don't forget that swapping spring rates changes the ride height (without adjusting the spring perch to a compensated height), which changes the toe, which will eat tires and can cause handling issues (depending on how bad and which direction they go).

true this. firestone has a lifetime alignment for $139, i suggest either buying this or learning how to set your own toe with stickers and a tape. only problem with the sticker method is that it takes some trial and error if you ever loose center of the wheel. it's also not as accurate as a real machine. you can get within 1/16th with a little fiddling though.
