Distributor H22 INTERNAL--->>EXTERNAL Conversion
I'm trying to convert my JDM h22 Distributor into a External Coil using my exisiting h23 wiring harness.
I've searched & searched and cannot find the exact asnwer for my setup so please help.
Now, my thoughts are, there is a positive greeen/yellow wire that goes to the postive of the internal coil, and other write-ups have said you must extend this wire outside of the dizzy box, and put it on the positve on the external.
There are three wires coming from my external Coil plug, and the one I can't figure out is the BLUE wire, which I think is the SIGNAL wire.
So basically, I just need to figure out which one wire it is, that I need to extend to this BLUE WIRE on my wiring harness to make this work.
anybody done this? I've had TWO JDM dizzy's fry the ICM.

i would tell you this. i had external and went to internal so to avoid more things of possiblly breaking stay internal i will better for you in the long wrong.
cant answer your question but internal coils go bad a lot more frequently than external because of heat issues... so i dunno what the guy is talkin bout
True, yeah I've weighed my options on both sides. I've also experienced TWO internal coils/dizzys weaken over time and need replaced. Now on number 3.
I would like to try this now and see how it works, my intnernal coil is bad and I need something NOW.
Already got the external coil, bracket, coil wire, and cap & rotor needed for the conversion.
Somebody please just tell me whats the one wire in the dizzy that needs to be exteneded to the 'Blue' wire on my harness. Thanks

anybody? this should be fairly easy I would think.. somebody's had to do this before.
It's a common issue with the JDM distributors to overheat and cause ICM failure.

-That's basically what i'm trying to do.. In fact I think I found a write-up for the OBD-2 Distributor, but They were saying it's a green wire, and I've got a Blue which is the signal wire.
I think I just have to extend the green wire to the blue plug on the car side harness.
somebody please confirm.
Or just sell me a really cheap h23 dizzy and be super cool : )
