Does anyone know if rear cover over spare tire is still available from the dealer, or anywhere else.

most everything is available, just call and findout, you can always make your own cover

 

Its discontinued, just make your own from plywood or MDF.

 

you don't have to make one. My buddy used one out of a 90 wagon. And get this it's metal so more worrying about it breaking

I used 1/4 inch plywood and some foam strips for the bottom to keep it from rattling. I still had an funky oem cover to trace so that helped.

It might be a bit small seeing as the sedan has a bigger trunk, I think.

Well i've decided to make a new cover but I'm still looking for ideas for the materials. I want something strong and lightweight. I've considered plywood, aluminum, fiberglass, and carbon fiber (no bling).
aluminum seems like the best option but im not sure how heavy it will be. Plywood is easy but i've already broken the 1/4" plywood i have in there now and i dont want to go with thicker 3/8".
Fiberglass seems to fragile for a heavy load and occasionaly my weight.
I'm not sure how i would get or make a carbon fiber sheet.

any input would be appreciated.
