I love mine. Went from Tein SS to Skunk2 Pro C and I'll never go back. Night and day difference (Skunk2 prevailed).

I'll take a full coilover over a shock and sleeve coilover any day of the year.

the pro c has one advantage over the yellow/gc combo and that is the ability to go down without touching preload. if you're one of those guys who thinks riding dumped is cool, this is a major benefit.

as for other stuff. every time i hear "i'd rather have a TRUE coilover" over the koni/gc i normally picture someone who's never had either. all something like a tein ss coilover is, is a threaded shock with an adjustable perch. i mean, do they get kudos for fixing the thread body in place? it's really no different of design from the koni/gc

Actually yes, they do get kudos for having the threaded body in place. Like you mentioned... having ride height and preload adjustments separately is kind of a big deal (for some folks). Also, the Pro C's have a fixed valving... so you can run up to an 18k spring and be fine. More kudos for that option as well!

that's kind of a shotgun answer. i agree that it's a perk on something like the pro-c but the tein ss for example is also called a "true coilover" and it's nothing more than a gc style sleeve fixed on a shock.

both the konis and the skunk c's are adjustable. not sure what fixed valving means since neither are.

Since neither are? The Skunk2 Pro C's do have a fixed valving. Most other manufacturers require that you have the shock re-valved accordingly to your spring of choice.
Like I mentioned previously... the Skunk2 valving is good for springs up to 18k right out of the box.

A fixed valving means that they are only valved for one spring rate. Anything else is either over or under damped.

Adjustable valving means the user can adjust to suit a range of spring rates.
