depends what kind of rims. for example (this is my opinion) 15in gt3s are too small for me but 15in slipstreams are perfect. on an eg
id find out the offset before buying them, I have 16x7 on my car with a 40 offset and it brings the wheels flush with the fender.
16s look too big (to my eyes) on an EG Hatch. I've got 15x7s with 195/15/50 Toyo Proximas and they're perfect. You'll want a 4x100 bolt pattern for an EG Civic.

your civic is 4x100 bolt pattern. make sure the wheels are either 4x100, or universal 4 lug.
16x7 with a 40 offset will be fine, it's all in what you prefer.
if you plan on tracking the car at all and don't want several different sets of wheels i would stick with 15's, you will have better options in tires.
15s will look good cant go wrong with 15s. i just picked up a fresh set of 16x7 gold rota slips for my em1 so im excited to see what 16s look like.
16's look way too big on an EG, I'd go with 15 max for an EG. EK's I think can pull 16's off, but even then I still think they are a little too big. I say an offset of anywhere between 38-41 (at least with EK's this is true, I'm not sure what the range is for an EG , but I doubt it's not too different with an EG) would also make the EG sit properly in my opinion, unless you are going for a wider stance. Get a camber kit if you plan on lowering it after putting your rims on, make the rims look flush against the fender so it doesn't butterfly out (or you can use the washer method in the back and just get the front kit). However, a little camber in the front will help with cornering as you'll get better contact with the tread to the ground with weight distributed to that part of the car under load. Sorry for the detailed response, I'm a very meticulous person by nature haha.
