As the topic says, the car will only start when it's been sitting for a little while. After I drive it for a few minutes and shut it down, it takes several tried before it'll start again, it just keeps turning over. Please help!!!!!

couls be the main relay, or the fuel pump going out


check to see if there is spark, try to rule out coil/igniter. If you get spark, I would try a main relay.

 

Check your ignighter/distributer setup. I had the exact same problem and a new distributer fixed it.

 

i had/still kinda have the same problem...does your check engine light stay on? do you hear a clicking noise as soon as you turn your key to the accesory position? check your grounds...I cleaned up my wires and it starts up right away now, well most of the time it does...if your check engine light stays on, doesnt that mean the ECU isnt sending a feed to the oil pump?

 

i know this problem all to well! short trips and really hot days,aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!ive had to leave my car places and come back when the sun went down!99.9 percent chance its your main relay located next to your left leg buy the fuse box.good luck
