I have a spare I'll sell cheap, if it's the part I think you're talking about. It's the solenoid with a tube running from the charcoal canister to it to the throttle body, right?
PM me with an offer.

You can do without it, but you'll have fuel vapors under your hood and it won't pass smog.

It's safe but won't pass smog as others said.

I bought my replacement evap solenoid used off ebay for like $19.

Ok, well on a B18C1 it goes to the throttle body, on a D series it will be mounted on the driver's side on the back of the intake manifold. The one I have looks just like the one in your picture and it came off of a D15B7.

Vindicator9000 said he got his for $19. Does $19 shipped work for you? PM me if you're interested, I'll give you my paypal address and we'll figure something out.

I already called Autozone and they can't get anything to cross reference to it. You might want to try some other auto parts stores.

You don't have to have it unless your state does emissions.

It doesnt need it to run no, it might have some idle issue , but nothing major, its not a MAF car so haul ***.

But a junkyard one would work.

I dont have emissions so...im ***** out with my fumes!

Germany does have strict emissions and inspection. In fact, you're not even allowed to drive a car with visible rust (at least when I lived there, quite a while ago).

Dunno where you're going, but just FYI... there used to be a good pick-n-pull in the Sembach area.

i dont understand how this will not pass emissions...and i think right now its pointless to get one of these since i dont have that charcoal canister correct? will the car run any differently?
