Default A/C Question. HELP!!!

Guys, i have a EK Hatch with OBD1 GSR swap. I wanna put my a/c back on and i was wondering if i have to get everything from EK Civic and lower a/c mount from crv/del sol or if i could reuse my lower a/c mount and compressor from the 94 DC that came with motor and get everything else for the EK Civic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

easiest way is to get all the a/c components from the ek civic along with the sohc compressor.. and then just use the crv/delsolb16 a/c bracket.. P54 bracket..

Yea, I understand that. I'm just askin since I have the DC lower mount ac bracket and compressor, can I use it or is it a pain in the neck to get it to work?

yes, it's a pain in the neck. I asked the same questions when I got a free DC2 compressor with my gsr swap, and seriously looked at doing it that way.

If you look at a Civic compressor and a DC compressor side by side, you'll see that the hose connections are clocked opposite. So, to run civic hoses into a teg compressor, you have to twist them all crazy, and I'm not sure that it will work at all. If it does work, I'm not sure that it's good for the hoses. The bolt holes just don't even come close to lining up.

Now, if you used teg hoses from the compressor to the rest of the Civic AC system, that may be possible, but I've never tried it or seen if they'll even mate up. It may be easy, but I've never seen it done in 6 years of lurking here. I've not seen it myself because I didn't have teg hoses at the time that I was screwing with it.

Unfortunately for you, the easiest, bolt-on, tried-and-true method is to use all Civic AC parts with a B20 mount bracket.

then why is it that i installed a b16 mount onto my b18b block bolted on my d series compressor and the b16 ac belt wouldnt fit? I had to remove the tentioner completly for the belt to fit, its pretty snug and im willing to bet it will snap thats why i was wondering what belt to get. thanks

Interesting. Don't know, other than that I'm running a CRV bracket with a d16 belt, and it's not abnormally tight. Wonder if the different mount is the reason.
