95 civic 134a or r12 freon??

Default 95 civic 134a or r12 freon??

I have a 95 civic coupe ex with a gsr swap. I had to leak fixed but wasnt sure what kind of freon the car used??? is it 134a or r12? im assuming 134a+ is artic ice's way of just saying it a better 134a and isnt a different freon right?

I'm pretty sure it uses R134a, but there should be a sticker under the hood to verify.

im not sure but either way the retro fit kit is like 30 buks and r12 is illegal to buy unless from the black market.

Those cheap conversion kits should be strictly avoided. Pay the money for a proper conversion, and you'll be glad in the end. I believe a certified shop can recharge an R12 system. With this said, I'm almost certain that the OP has an R134a system.

yea ur right they can properly charge the system but ive done it for a living b4 u absolutely can not put r12 into anything not even refrigerators. and ur def right about the cheap kit they do suck but works for a few months lol. but anyways all the shop will do is add diff fitting on the r12 fitting and use whatever they have to charge it. and its not called freon anymore because of green weenies keeping the planet safe haha, freon was banned thats why they came out with r134a and like 162 and there are so many u can use universally

Look for an A/C system sticker on the underside of the hood.

the sticker i believe in on the compressor as well as under the hood like on the hood. and the kit sells at part stores but only last a season. junk
