5 speed swap questions
Hey guys, about to get rolling on my 5th gen 5 speed swap. I have a 95 ex auto. A buddy of mine has a 4th gen ex wagon 5 speed. I was worried about the trans from that car working(well mounting up properly). Imean the gear ratios between the 4th gen ex and 5th gen ex is the same. So I was wondering if they were different when it came to mounts or maybe the VSS and reverse lights or what?? Also what about the 5 speed mount, the clutch master cylinder, lines, and slave cylinder. The only thing I am not using from his car is the pedals and the driver side axle. Anybody have any insight on what will and will not work. Yes I have read the FAQ, but I was on majestic honda and some of the item numbers for some of the parts are different, thats why I figured I would ask and just clarify.
Oh, I dunno if it makes a difference, but I am getting a 94 ex ECU from another friend, doubt it will, but there is that haha. Any help will be great.

The only thing to make it work is, you will need the 5th Gen Accord 5spd tranny mount and re-tapp the tranny mount holes so you can retain the 5th Gen Accord mount onto the 4th Gen tranny. It'll bolt up just fine onto the motor. I've learned from experience. All that clutch pipe and slave will work on all accords as well. Using the 4th Gen Accord tranny mount won't work in your 5th Gen chasis because the 4th Gen's is too short compare to the 5th Gen mount.
wow thanks dude. thats what i wanted to hear. something simple like a hole retap haha. do you still drill out the dimple for the 5 speed mount to bolt to like for the 5th gen trans? I figure you would just making sure.....
You mean do you still have to drill the dimple on the 4th Gen tranny to use the 5th Gen tranny mount? if thats what you mean, yes, you'll have to drill out the dimples on the 4th Gen tranny to be able to bolt the 5th Gen mount onto the 4th Gen trans.
oh is that where the dimple is? on the trans? now it all makes sense hahaha.
thanks dude. glad to know that i can just retap and not have to source all 5thgen parts and drop this 4th gen parting deal.

Yup, there's two dimple on the 4th Gen tranny housing I believe that you'll have to tapp. GL on the swap. Grab a 5th Gen 5spd tranny mount and you'll know where you'll have to retapp on the 4th Gen tranny housing.

I have a 96 accord did the automatic to standard conversion, your reverse lights are not going to work, there should be a plug that is on your tranny it has a yellow wire and a green wire. You have to run those wires through the inside of your car and wire them up to the tranny switches there should be a big yellow wire and a big green wire on the switches, tap your wires to them and you should be set.
