Default Alarm Install did I get Screwed? A few Questions

When I went to a shop shopping for a car alarm and I told the sales rep that I needed an alarm that has a glass break sensor in it and the Viper 350 is the way to go.

So is this alarm has the glass break sensor on it? Or not from reading the manual I could not see anything that involves glass breakage only the shock sensor.

So I got it installed and I also asked the guy if this alarm has the starter kill on it and he says yes but you have to get the optional relay to make it work. So I did pay $20 extra for the relay. So is it true that you needed a relay for this starter kill to work?

Also when I intentionally try to shake the car back and forth just to test the alarm but it did not go off, the alarm should activate right?

The brain is under the steering wheel close to the driver side door and is vertical. Does it make a difference where or how the brain is located or position?

And I think everyone might agree on this unless you have a convertible the proximity sensor is a waste of money IMO.

Needed your Input.

Thanks!

The Viper 350 does not come with a GB sensor, it comes with a dual stage impact sensor.

Yes a relay needs to be added for starter kill, but $20 for a relay is way too much unless it includes the relay harness/plug.

"Shaking the car back and forth" should not trigger the alarm, it is not a motion sensor, it is an impact sensor.

How alarm brain is mounted, [direction] makes no differance.

Any added sensor is a good idea, I have a dual stage prox. sensor on a 94 LS along with a dual stage impact, again all added layers are good. 94

When installing the GB Sensor, does it have to be installed in the glass or near the glass?

I already purchased one.

I was thinking this is a MIC and just put the MIC in Driver side visor kinda like a Bluetooth MIC.

Any suggestion where to mount it best?

Thanks!

I thought the viper 350 comes with the starter kill relay. Unless they changed it.

As for the glass sensor I usually put the mic somewhere in the center like the console or dash. I usually drill a hole in a tab and mount it flush.

I thought just about all alarms came with a starter kill relay. I have yet to see an alarm that states it comes with starter kill without the required relay included.

This extra money for this misterious relay is what drives people away from these crooked car salesman.

I have a funny true story about 14 years ago my girlfriends brother went to this stereo shop that they had a "buddy" at. They always paid top dollar for everything. When I saw the bill I said you guys got taken. When we went down to the stereo shop I pointed out the extra charge for this same damn relay. He said it wasn't included and they had to charge extra for it. I told him to go get me a new sealed alarm box. He grabbed one and I quickly pulled out the starter kill relay. He got pissed off and kicked me out of his store haha dumb a$$. That was the last time they went to that store. Fast forward a couple years and he was fired for stealing from the company fast forward a few more years and they were bankrupt.

Being a crook eventually catches up to you, people only stay stupid for so long.

IMO when you advertise "installed" prices that should include all advertised features of that alarm.
For instance who the hell buys a top of the line clifford alarm and then only installs the alarm portion with no features?
Because we all know "installed" means the power, ground, siren and maybe a door sensor is hooked up everything else is extra.
This IMO makes the install industry look like they don't know what they are doing.

The 350 model comes with the starter kill relay all ready wired. You can see it here.

The model after comes with the starter kill wired into the brian and can pick nc/no settings.

Seems like the op paid for a very basic alarm install. I would be more worried about having a dei 520t back up battery then a glass sensor. Its a honda and most theives will not break the window to get in.

I have the Viper 350 Responder and the Thief broke the driver side rear window to get in to the car and stole my radio.

As per the installation of the GB sensor do I just install it in the center console with the mic flush or closer to the window?

Looking for best mounting position.

The glass break sensor will go off at the sound of anything high pitched for a period of time. I tested mine by jingling my keys in front it it. That should set it off. I set the sensor behind my AC vents.

The glass brake sensor will set off the alarm if it hit i think 110db or higher. Close your window and use a coin or your keys to lightly tap the window. Walk around and tap different sections to see if it senses it and adjust as needed. Reason why I put it in the center is that sometimes the sound gets partially blocked by the seats or other things in the vehicle.
