I saw a graph with these and the ice box but i dunno on what kinda car...on the graph the injen beat the AEM in like all of the rpms range....which is better for a Type R and doesn't anyone have dynos with them both?

Take a look at the ICEBOX also.

 

The injen website claims its better than AEM. Biased maybe? IMO of course. Im sure the differences, if any, are minimal. Get the (brand name here) one and I'm sure you'll like it.

 

yeah the pres...he is/was from SD... I like it cause it blings more..but then i heard AEM has polished intake now also.

Both are very similar.

 

AEM and Injen both make mostly topend power, while the comptech icebox makes more midrange. Ive had both AEM and Comptech, as you can see i stuck with the comptech in the end.

 

Injen ownz AEM

 

Go with the comptech icebox... excellent performance and most can't even tell it from the stock box!

 

Similar, but IMO the AEM CAI looks much nicer. I can't stand how the injen doesn't have a mat aluminum version, unless thats something i dont know. I hate the chrome

 

Who cares what they look like? AEM, Injen, Comptech.....you can't go wrong with either.

i have a aem and i love the sound and the look of it.

 

If I was going to do it all over again, I would probably get the J's.

 

Having owned both and having had both installed, the Injen is a nicer piece and fits much better than the AEM. The AEM nearly rubbed through a couple of AC lines, while the Injen fit almost perfectly (almost because its a little tight with the coolant catch tank, but that's only during installation, once its in its fine). I sold my AEM and still have the Injen installed.

As for the power difference, there's really not much of a difference. Both of my intakes were used by Austin a little over a year ago for a dyno test along with his Icebox. The Injen did the best of the three and got a hp or two more here or there over the AEM.

i had an AEM CAI never try the Injen but they look more bling

i like mugen, j's, stock with spoon/ k&N filter.

 

I can't believe no one commented on the nurds in the picture, dorks.

Anyway get the icebox I have the Injen now and while it's nice I don't like the noise it makes. Although it does fit better than the AEM version. If I had to do it over again I would go for the Icebox which is the common sentiment around here.

 

I have an aem and I am tryin to get rid of it if you're interested. I'm trying to get a stock airbox.Sound doesn't matter either I can't hear it over my N1 exhaust anyways. I would go with a short ram or the Ice Box.
