i know this isnt specifically for this model but i have a 94 honda accord ex and i thought i ask u guys. well i got a call today from SCP which is a car sponsoring company. they are telling me that they will give me 5Gs to go towards my car parts. only requirements is that i have to attend 3 local, regional, or national carshow withing 12 months, put thier decal on my car, and pay $150 for a subscription. the thing that is i asked them to send me sum info in the mail and they said only through email. has anyone heard of this sponsor or had it b4? i want to know if they are legit before i commit. please help. thier link is www.TEAMSCP1.com check it out and let me know.

I'm not sure if you are that naive or not, but let's just see... do you really think anyone will really give you money for you to buy parts for YOUR car, and in return... ask you to attend some meets. And do you think these meets will be right around the block from where you live?! I've seen something similar to this a few years ago. Some company wold give money for a few friends of mine for them to invest towards their car, and in return.. they had to lay a decal on the car and stuff. Truth is, only one of the 10 kids really got a sponsor (because he was the one who had spent 8k in building his engine and turbocharge).

Come on.... if it sounds too good to be true.. than it's not true. There's always a nice catch behind every bait, ALWAYS!!!

 

What does your car look like? Have they seen your car or a curent build project online?

I passed on two sponsors, legit sponsors. There was no where near 5g involved. They wanted me to attend a few local meets and spread the word about there parts. In turn they would pay any enterance fees into the shows and give me a small discount on their parts. Well it just so happed that the people had next to no parts avialable for an 96 Accord or an F22B2. What good was running around promoting parts for other makes and models gong to do for me?

I said no thanks...maybe it was the wrong thing to do, but the way I looked at it was that they weren't helping me get my car built. So why bother promoting them.

 

its a scam, i was involved in one of those a few years back when i was naive. dont fall for it. i only lost 80 bucks though :-P...

 

From the looks of that site they aren't giving you cash unless you pass certain criteria. And it seem like most if any of the cash will come only if you win contests at events. It sounds more or less like they might give you a % off any available parts. In turn for your time and effort to sell there parts and try to win contests. Your cost up front, no win = no money.

Is your car up to snuff to win best in show or any other category? If not your probably not going to get any cash.

thanks for all ur help guys. well my car is kinda fixed up already. i have air bag suspension, 18" Diablo Intuition rims, Megan Racing headers and stabilizer bars, Magnaflow Dual-tip dual exhaust, angel eye headlights, alteza taillights, infinity speakers, Matrix Intake, MSD spark plug wire, racing clutch, short shifter, reverse glow gauges, and Black Widow body kit. im posting up pics of my accord on my profile, check them out and let me know if its a show winner.

 

It is a nice looking Accord you have there and you have done a bit of work. To put it bluntly it's basically a paint job and rims. It wouldn't win any shows around here. The few cars we have around here are done to the ****. Your engine bay is a bit rough and the interior is So-So. Is that a crack in your front body kit?

yeah i guess so, well it does have a crack on the front bumper cuz the roads here are really rough and lots of wholes everywhere. well i gotta work on it more, im planning on doing suicides on the back and shaving the doors. before that though, im going to do flip flop trunk, custom enclosure for my subs, amp, compressors, and tank in the trunk, and "floating" hood.

lol...it sounded fishy when they told me that stuff. thats why i figured id post up a thread to see if anyone else had heard of them. doing research and getting info is the best thing for me before deciding on sumthing. thanx peeps

 

lol scp(sport compact pro) if im not correct my buddys prelude had a sticker of them on the car but the previous owner was probaly sponser by them.... he said they are b**ches lol i got called once for a sponsership for an rx8 they thought i had but i had an rx7 they said still lets sponser u and then i said a old *** civic they said we can work out with that

here's the part that should've caught your attention right away.

They send you $5,000

but you send them $150

why wouldn't they just send you $4,850?
