Default Start up Problem!

Ive searched and found no usefull information. Every thread ive found is going no where fast & I need answer's quick like.

Little run down of my problem:

Car's turns over but doesnt seem like its getting any spark. I hear the fuel pump prime, no CEL at the moment. I have to give it gas to get it to crank up. Once I do however, it does start up over and over until I let it sit for a few hours. I had CEL the other night but havent have the change to check it yet (Will do it tomorrow morning). Also just replace the rotor in the distributor & put on Walbro fuel pump.

Oh and one more thing. Just now I went outside to try and crank it up to see if it would and it actually did. However, it did die about 45 seconds later. It just did this twice.

Side question:

Are OBD-I and OBD2b rotors the same? I know the distributors arent but the rotors look exactly the same.

Thanks in advance guys.

Air, fuel, and spark. check em all. I have heard of people having problems with walboro pumps on stock injectors. Those people recommend a fuel pressure regulator set to around 39-40psi as the walboro pump puts out around 60.
As far as the rotor question, I have no clue but it's just a piece of metal covered in plastic. If it looks identical and fits it's probably the same

My fuel pressure is at right about 45psi, give or take. Ill check the spark tomorrow but I know for most components they either work or dont except for maybe the plugs I guess. There's not really a "grey area", correct me if im wrong.

I thought it might have something to do with the pump. Is there anyways of knowing for sure? Maybe other then throwing the stock one back in and seeing if that solves the problem.

Like I said, dial down your pressure a little more and see. I make no guarantees as I'm just spouting off stuff I heard but it makes sense. If you get too much fuel it will inevitably bog down and quit right?
