well my girlfriend doesnt really like driving a 5spd, and wanted a automatic. so we found a good deal on a 5spd ek coupe but its a 5spd. i havent really put much thought on what you would need or how to do a 5spd to auto swap lol, it backwards from what im used to. i know i need the ecu, trans. im not sure if the axles are the same for manuals as autos? so does any one else have any insight on this? thanks

Save yourself the headache and just buy an automatic.

just buy the automatic. less hassle and u dont have to buy all the parts and swap. I like a chick who can ride a stick thumbs up

 

bascily a full harness, iacvs are different. youll need auto tranny,tourqe converter, starter, plus bolts. ecu. also a trannsmission control module (tcm) not sure if its in the ecu or not.
most likely forgot other things that youll need.

yea, i can get everthing thats not the problem. and im mechanically inclined and know that i can do it, ive just never done a 5spd to auto lol. just wanted to see some other peoples input. thanks

 

Just trade it for someone's automatic. It's better for everyone.

 

Its really not worth the hassle. Its considerably more work than going the other way. Either buy an automatic hatch or teach the girlfried to drive stick.
