Default Siezed Water Pump and Broken Timing Belt.

SO i was doing 65 in the fast lane on the freeway when I broke my timing belt on a d15b so I get it to the shop notice water coming outta the water pump pulled apart and saw a small pin hole link long story short put a new belt on after i timed the motor and new water pump and started right back up no bent valves nothing this is second timing belt ive broke on this car why am i not bending valves is this not an interference motor? thank you.

Yea, you definitely shouldn't be on a third t-belt. Are they being over-tightened or too loose? are they tearing or snapping?

yes, its an interference motor but you may have gotten lucky. check to see if the belt tensioner is bad.

the first one was my fault let it get old you know then it wore away last one was just a mecahnical failure but im following right by the book to put together.

your just getting lucky, some one is doing something wrong when they put this in, its to loose, or too tight. that our your just getting peice of **** timing belts. or tensioner is bad, which you should just replace anywas.

OK like i said the first damn time it was a old belt this time i had a faulty water pump it sized causing the belt to snap i simply asked why im not bending valves i do all work my self thanks. And yes buying goodyear gatorback belts.

your getting ****ing lucky get it?!?!?

it is a interference motor but sometimes they dont bend valves, consider your self lucky it didnt take out your head.

From reading reports on the internet over the years of failed Honda timing belts, it seems like over half the time there is no valve damage. Civics have interference engines, but I figure either the valve reliefs on top of the pistons help preclude damage; or maybe the pistons can push on the valves some without damaging them; or maybe the valves land in mid-position pretty easily; or all of the above.

wow you all are so tuff alls you guys wanted to say is i was buying cheap parts or doing something wrong lol go read original post i didnt wantto be told whatg ive done wrong but thank you honda lioness only resonable answer in thank god i daily drive a honda and thank god i race racecars at race tracks with v8's.

No dumb asa called ASA stock cars yes I do race them dumbshit. Come to south sound speedway evergreen any place you want im there and you can see track champion at work.

wow he said go play with our little 4 cyl yet he's here surprised and dumbfounded on why he hasnt bent any valves....second of all ive seen little 4 cyl rape the s*** out of V8s...No body here think of themselves as gods and the point is we are here to help out fellow honda members but obviously your not good at taking comments or opinions...might wanna try some anger management and get back at us when you figure out why you havent bent any valves...ill go play with my little 4 cyl which im so proud of anyways!
