for those of you who hate pillar guages and dont know what to do with them
at first i was drivign without a dash. and my gauges 3m taped to the floor by the shifter. it was ugly and looked real hagard so i needed a place to put my gauges. this is a DIY for a guage panel
i got some coil stock from my super step dad.
i cut a square. i didnt cut the devider between the radio and climate control
i have no ac or heater so its all gone no need for the climate dealy or radio
i screwed the coil stock to the dash. and then flipped the dash over and unscrewd the panel from the dash(the plastic panel) and took that to my step dads. he used a hole sawa and cut 3 52mm holes for me
i drilled 2 holes for switches(CEL switch and kill switch)
i painted the panel. let it dry and mounted the gauges to it then the swithes. then reattached the wires to the guages. it works nice. and doesnt shake or vibrate. and looks cool, not on the pillar, not on the floor, and not on the top of the dash.

Would rather have the pillar pod really......would opt for neither but if I to choose this mess over the pillar pod.....I would choose the pod. But a good idea if you cleaned it up a bit.
thats a clean *** setup...you want to hook me up?
SIKE!!! lol
what the hell were you thinking bro?

...you never cut the cel plug off and wired a switch..if you need to check the cel..flip the switch and count the blinks and then turn it back off
and the kill switch...is for a kill switch hidden sum1 where else.
and this is (if i had a better camera for you to see) way cleaner that what it was. driving around with no dash and after doing awire tuck all the messness was right in front of me. having an dash now is a rare feeling.
the panel is a mock up. now i can get a plastic plate made...then sell them..

That cel thing is pretty smart. I mean, checking it before wasn't that complicated, but at least now you don't have to pull kick panel off. Man, people jump all over your **** on here if you don't tell them exactly what you did.
i found a manufacture that sells sheets of abs plastic for like $30 a 2x2ft sheet
i can make a super clean panel.
for regulation at a drag strip the battery cutoff switch do you have to have the altenator cut off on it too? and does it have to be in the back if the battery is too?
or can i just use a battery cutoff and put in on this panel?

Here's another option if you hate pillar gauges...FRP gauge bezel that replaces your upper steering wheel bezel and fits 45MM gauges:

No, I didn't make that. It's made by Westhill Motorsports (Japanese company) and is only available in Japan. They make them for EKs and DC2s as well. It comes white and you have to cut out the spaces for the gauges and then paint it to match your interior. Kinda pricey though...$300 before shipping, if you can even get someone to ship one to you. I have connections and could get one...kinda tempted.

Man that one with 3 guages on the steering is pretty damn clean. But not 300.00 clean LOL, I could probably spend a little bit of time with some glass and elbow grease and make one just as nice looking for a fraction of the cost, minus the man hours to make it nice LOL.
