ek4 turbo traction problems!!!help needed.
Hi people iv had a ek4 b16a2 turbo for about a year now the engine is fully forged and running still strong, after buying it off ebay i thought it would last the drive home and it would blow up lol .but to my amazement shes still running really well.took it to santa pod in the uk you may of heard of it if u are from this side of the pond ,and put a ok time in 13.3 at 110mph.still have full interior and street tyres .so what im asking is what do i need to get to put her into the low 12sec/high 11sec? running about 320bhp at flywheel but still have more hp to go if needs be, I'm spinning half track at least any help would be appreciated.by the way i am new to drag racing so still learning the tricks .cheers
At the moment iv got kei 16inch alloys with low profile tyres not the best for the track.whats the best set of slick to get when it comes to price and quality?I hear micky tompsons are good what ya think.nice vid poootie i saw your ek on youtube looks mean with the slicks on it what time you getting with the new setup.what about tractions bars are they any good?

but yea, MT are the $hit. M/H cost a bit less and does the job.
You can even get a nice Drag Radial also to help with traction if you don't wanna go full slick. Again MT rules in this department.
I corrently don't have a traction bar (due to plumbing in the way). But i don't yet have an issue with wheel hop. But i assume i soon will.

cool,do you know of any websites for the M/H slicks no point spending loads on slicks that ant going to get used every week if u know what i mean.a guy told me from the usa, based over hear that the traction bars realy dig the front end in but its all new to me.yeah your build video i think.
invest the money on slicks/rims. You'll get more out of them then you will the traction bars. All i've got is slicks and a koni/GC setup and i'm cutting low 1.7 60 fts consistantly
Just play around with launching points and getting to know what the car likes. But you have a turbo car. No amount of driving will save you from spinning .
What tranny are you running, you wanan make sure you have the right tire for your gearing.
As far as i know its a standard b16a2 gearbox final drive has not been changed i dont think. has a quaife diff in it thats it i think.checked it also has 475hp axles so should take the the strain.

I was at POD on Sunday chatting with Sam, you may want to discuss his suspension set-up as well, weight transfer on launch is not so good, it’s a pure road car so it’s running full interior.
Sam, I was in the silver CRX, we raced a couple of times.
As I said to you on the day, I was also running road wheels and tyres and tractions wasn’t particularly good off the line as the track marshals were using powdered sand (gold dust) on the start to prevent transmission breakages on stock cars, this is normal for RWYB.
I run the same power and set-up on MT Drag radials and run low 12’s, on Sunday with road tyres and an unprepared track it was low 13’s off the back of 2.2 60fts.
Tyres are going to be key, more power only makes up for poor technique.

But becuase you said you have more power if need be, It would suck for you to have to shift 5th at the track coz you are running of 4th. So a taller tire will give you a bit more room. So 24.5" slicks is what i would go with.
alright eddie yeah your crx was quick we had a bit of a battle my first run was the fastest 13,3 i think after that i got slower dont know y. Decided a set of M&H slicks with d2 fully adjustable coilovers should do the job.i think after this year i will probley start trailering the car to pod anyway ,so interior will be taken out.
When you have to drive 120miles to the track and back you sort of go easy on your car .cheers for your help poootie il see what i can get .
