Default hood clearance problems

Anyone out there had any clearance problems with their hoods after a b16 swap. It shuts, but it's hitting just to the left of the cam cover and rubbing away the black on the valve cover. I am getting a carbon fiber hood soon and want to make sure it will clear it. I don't care if it has a scoop on it or whatever, I just don't want it to rub anymore. Please let me know specific brands that have more clearance, thanks.

I put a ZC in My CRX and the hood would rub. So, I put two 8th inch washers under the motor mounts and it lowered it just enough that it stopped hitting. Hope this helps

you can use a hammer to bang the reinforcement out of the way, or shell the whole hood out. Or get a carbon fiber hood that is "sir style" so the center section of the hood goes up rather than down, but the lights still fit.

Speaking of SiR style hoods. . . does anyone know of a reasonably priced one that will fit USDM front ends? I found a CF one that fits but it's $600.

I'm getting a GSR swap soon and i'm gonna need a new hood too. Where did you find the SiR style hood?

hey bud..here's something to try until you get that new hood. open the hood and look at the spring mechanism on the underside of the hood. take a straight blade screwdriver and turn the bolt inside the spring counter clockwise..this will raise the hood when it is fully closed. also look on the outside edges of the hood at the little black bumps..you can unscrew these and raise it up a little too. i fit my b20 w/ hasport mounts and stock hood, and that's taller than a b16 by 8 mm.

Try here for VIS racing CF hoods. They are like 480 and say JDM design, I'm assuming thats the same as SIR.

Sorry for not replying sooner. It's about half way down the page. No pics unfortunately. I've heard bad things about VIS stuff's fitment.
