Default D2 Racing Coilovers-Reviews, thoughts, experiences, etc

I'm in the market to buy a new set of coilovers. The problem is, I haven't been in the scene in awhile and somewhat slowly going away from it. My KYB/GC setup is shot and I don't plan on going back to these due to my experience with them (the hex bolts (all 4) to adjust height seized up, my driver front coilver pretty much fell apart, etc, etc, etc).

For those who have ran D2s, would you please put up your review of these? Your experience, ride quality, the occassional track days/road race/autocross, problems, installation, etc.

This post in no means is a place for debate about which is better, or which to get, or product x V. product y, but solely to review and provide information of this coilover system for people who are also looking for this setup.

My car: 98 Integra GSR.

Thank you all!

if you're looking for decent ride quality, this definitely isn't what you're looking for.

my collars were seized, but i went through winters with them so thats expected. my LF shock is blown, just too lazy to get another shock from d2 (i haven't driven the car in a while so i don't really care). the roads here are horrendous so you may or may not get better life out of your shocks.

for what i paid for them, can't really complain though. probably will go pic or tein next time around though. the ride is a lot more compliant.

i just got myself a new set of D2 street/sports in my EK 5doors
wif front 12kg rear 10.5kg springs
been using it for normal street drive about 1week only
so far so good, abit stiff for bumpy road in malaysia
but tested high speed corner its very stable
i believe its a good coilovers for trackday but not really suitable for all round street use

yes it is 36step soft hard but normally an aftermarket adjustable coilover is using very stiff damper.
even wif the softest setting it is still a lot stiffer than normal/stock shocks.
currently i put it 11 from the softest for testing
might go for 5/6 for street drive i think

Adjustable refers to damper stiffness, not spring stiffness, this naturally you cannot change.

i've had mine for almost a year. had them set to 16 for everyday driving and haven't had a problem with bumps in the road, minus the huge pot holes eveyone that's ridden and driven my car are impressed with the way they ride. i've gone on the road course once and they preformed exceptionally well. i have no complaints with them.

that's what I was referring to; adjusting damper to compensate for a smoother/softer ride.. if that makes any sense.

Im new to this site, and i was trying to look for some reviews on D2's and i seen this. Someone told me that the D2's end up leaking gas or liquids out of it? I don't think its true..Cause i really want to get D2's for my 91 Crx si. ive had FF1's and Kyb agxs with Eibach lowering springs. Back on stock struts and I need something that will give me a ballin *** drop for $900. And suggestions ?

If you didn't listen to "them" you won't listen to us. Go ahead and get the D2s and cross your fingers.

I'm curious. Why is d2 ghetto? You list no reasons. Do you have any experience with them?

Taiwanese/Chinese knockoffs. No R&D. No proven history. Same as Function & Form, Blackworks, Ksport, Godspeed, etc. and other of the same level of "product". Bandwagon companies that want a piece of that import market dollar and produce hit and miss setups.

Well of course. As long as you want them, then they won't leak They only leak if you don't want them.

Not defending D2 but you cant really knock them if no one trys them. How can you have proven history if no one gives them a chance? Ive looked for reviews and there arent many. But the ones Ive found, for the most part, people have good things to say about them. A lot of people are all over Buddy Clubs nuts. However Im CRSX also and the reviews are mixed. Half are good and half are ****. Even a good name brand can have cons. If you havent personally tried them, you cant say. Also each application has a different feel. So what works for one car, may not work for another or feel as nice as other set ups.
