I have a 89 Crx HF. Idk what to start off with. I was going to try to replace the speedometer cable. But I asked my friend and he said I should change the speed sensor. What do you think are possible solutions & costs?

the cables generally fail before the sensor does. disconnect it from the tranny and pull the twisty metal innards out. if it's in two pieces then theres your answer. if not, and it appears to be in good shape, then pull the vss out and take a look at that.

 

+1...make sure cable didn't come loose.

Speedo cable I bet. The sensor is on the back of your cluster, no?
