temp guage broken

Default temp guage broken

ok, my temp guage is reading "hot" as soon as i turn the key on in my 89 si with b16, what would cause this? btw its done this sence the swap

Could be from bad grounds, that would cause the described problem. Do you have all the grounds hooked up on the motor as well as the ones on the thermostat housing?

yes, it didnt work at first, so i tested it by grounding it with a jumper wire, it went to
"hot" and now thats all it does when the key is on...

Check to see what kind of voltage/resistance is coming from the temp sending unit. It is located on the head under the distributor and has only one wire. (yellow)

Also remove the guage cluster and check what voltage is present at the proper pin location.
