Does anyone know if a 90 si civic harness will fit my 88 crx si? I am replacing the harness from my headlights to the underdash fusebox as well as turning signals/ ecu harness. I am more leaning to yes bc they are both pgmfi and i am not replacing anything from the fuel pump back just whats under the dash...

also i know that the clusters are the same...at least from what i remember but it has definitely been a while.

i just need a second opinion thx guys

 

I just tried to plug a 88 cluster into my 91. It did not function properly, so I would say no they are not the same.
The clusters change from 88-89 to 90-91 structurally and the wires need to be swaped around in the plugs to get them to work.

 

no it wont directly go in alot of the plugs changed from 88-89 to 90-91. and if your thinking of just the front it still wont because where the rear harness plugs into the fuse box it will be different. what you could do is cut all the wires and solder them so you dont worry about plugs. but even the dash harness will be different because in 88-89 the hazard switch is on the steering colum and on 90-91 its on the cluster cover plus its iluminated. not to mention dash harnesses are all different where they plug into the fuse box a 90 dx most likely will be different from a 90 si. so your better off getting a complete body harness so all the plugs match up. but if your good with wires you can simply cut and solder stuff to make it work if you have to. ask me how i know.

 

would a 88-89 civic harness work on the rex? also would a crx dx harness work for an si?

i have been soldering like a fiend but i have finally come to the conclusion that there is no saving the harness that is already in there (in was a salvaged parts car). What connectors need to be repinned?
