Is my door ruined?
hello everyone. I was backing up my 2005 civic last night in the dark and the driver door got left open and got caught on a post and kinda got pulled open a bit too much.. it didn't get ripped of or anything but it nit wont shut and seal properly anymore. Do u think i just bent the hinges or what?? there does not appear to be any damage on the door itself and just hope it will be an easy repair. any advise will be greatly appreciated....

I feel for you supremebeing74, the same thing happened to me when I had just bought my '93 many years ago. I was messing with the radio in my garage without the parking brake on and it started rolling out when I went in the house for a minute. The door caught on the edge of the garage door frame and got bent back some. I replaced the door checker that had broken (item 15) and aligned the door, but it never closed properly again. Hard to say without knowing which way it got bent which way you need to adjust/bend it back. Can you be more specific??
this happened to someone i know and i got stuck being the one to attempt the fix. it ended up bending where the hinges mount to the body, the door check and the hinges. it was fixed but man i definately wouldnt tackle that again. if its bad i would say your best option for fixing is go to a collision expert.
also, on a side note. if you have that short of a memroy that from the time you get into your vehicle that you forget the step between sit down and turn key.....you might wanna buy a bus pass LOL
