Default spoon calipers on 4x114

so i have been doing research and i believe spoon calipers are a direct fit for 4x114 or "big four" as it is refered too, can anyone verify this?? i have seen that you can modify 4x100 to get them to fit. but from what i understand its a direct fitment to 4x114... just want someone thast knows or has tried it to verify this.
thanks in advance.

As far as I kow, the 4x114.3 and 4x100 DC2 knuckles, rotor sizes, and brake pad sizes are the same. Whatever changes you have to do for the 4x100 Spoon installation will be the same for the 4x114.3 installation. This includes the 3mm spacer for the rotor or milling 3mm from the caliper.

I had spoon calipers on my "big four" with prelude vtec rotors, spoon calipers, no shaving, shimming or anything. The caliper was off center by maybe a MM, no more, worked fine.

so you just used type r spoon calipers and they worked just fine? nice... also where does everyone buy there pads and new rotors for 4x114... what all fits. i am thinking like ebc greenstuff if they fit with spoon calipers and brembo rotors if they come 4x114.. just dont know what application to order for.

Rotors and pads have been covered plenty of times. Here's the most recent:

There are more in depth threads out there.

So I can get oem replacement 4x114 rotors and pads are any integra pad. My question is will the spoon calipers bolt right on and work like they did with the prelude rotors?

ebc green stuff pads are garbage. save your money and buy a set of hawk pads at least.

so i was looking at fastbrakes and they have 4x114 rotors in the 11.1, so i can run spoon calipers with no problem? or do i still run the 10.3 rotors? and do i need 5 lug caliper mounting brackets or the origional 4x114 will work? LOL

Give me a week or two and I will be able to answer this in full detail. I have some Spoon calipers on the way as well as factory 96-R rotors and 92-96 Prelude VTEC rotors. We'll see what fits.

Here's the lowdown. It's pretty much what highroller posted.

The start was a completely stock sized 4x114.3 ITR conversion with slotted rotors straight from Japan and Hawk HPS pads sized for a GSR.

I bolted up the Prelude VTEC rotor from Powerslot and the Spoon calipers:

As it sat totally stock, as highroller alluded to it was about 1mm offset to the inside - toward the hub.

I shimmed it with a set of 1mm thick washers to bring the rotor into the middle of the caliper:

Here's the rotor size difference:

Then I tested it against the few 4x114.3 15" wheels I have. All of them needed spacers.

Here are the wheels currently on the car, 15" Dunlop CPF-G +42 that needed a 10mm spacer:

Then my 15" Sprint Hart CPR +38 that needed a 5mm spacer:

And finally my spare 15" SSR Type X +35. I have 5 altogether but this one is good for mocking up since its so scratched.

So follow highroller: shim the rotor outwards or caliper inwards 1mm if you like but the recipe is 92-96 Prelude VTEC rotors, ITR pads, Spoon calipers, stock brake lines. From there space your wheels out as necessary.
