Icon2 Is it Ricey or No?

i think it looks pretty fresh to paint you're valve cover but is painting my brake calipers using the same high temp paint (silver or black on a white EG) going to look gay?

i thought it would look ok but not anything like red cause i know they are shitty calipers so theres no point in trying to make them look expensive.

i was thinking a black silver or white.

just wondering cause i dont want to do it and look like a ***.

I would go silver to make it blend in and look factory if your doing the calipers. Ah I wish i could afford the Spoon brake setup seeing that big blue caliper and nice slotted rotors so nice!

ha that was some gay a$$ paint job on those drums. well i did the rear disk conversion so i think i'll be painting my callipers and my valve cover.

callipers: Silver or black (not metallic)
VC: Black w/ Silver lettering

and yah i think any thing that keeps it looking stock is good and i guess any thing beats the nice rusty look i have going now

I say if you feel the need to paint them just go with black. it's not ricey or flashy and looks better than rust.

i think it's just based on what color you paint'm,haha like if your car yellow and you go red RICE but like if you go all color matching like a nice shade of "bronze"or bla bla bla it's all good.

I always do rear discs on my civics and paint the calipers red. (3 civics so far)
I figure if I'm going to put rear discs, I might as well show them off a little.
Plus I have si rims so you cant see the caliper that much.

Like everyone says paint the caliper and only the caliper. I have red and they're not flashy or ricey

You could get away with painting calipers but not drums

It depends on what they look like now. It might not hurt to just clean them up.

If the drums are rusted/flaking then repainting them black wouldn't be "ricey' at all. Although rusted drums might be a cool trend to match the hoods. HA.

As long as it's not to make them stand out, then cool. It's not like you want to point out that "hey, look at me in my Civic...i have stock brakes, and I painted part of them!"
