Spring/Shock combo??
I've got a 1990 civic si, and I'm planning on lowering it 1.5"-2.0". I would like to save as much money as possible. I've pretty much narrowed it down to TEIN S. Tech's, H&R Sport's or Eibach Sportline springs. Shock-wise, I've been looking at Koni STR.T's and Tokico HP "Blues", but I'm not too sure. I want to really reduce body roll and have a tighter handling car. Can anyone give me suggestions on a good spring/shock combo on a budget?

all this has been covered your right... but there are so many setups that its really up to the driver an what your going to do with the vehicle.. some one auto xing is gonna have a diff setup then a daily driver.. **** i live in jersey an we got pot holes so if i were to spend money on a nice setup i got a good chance of blowing them just because of bottoming out.. koni's are to me one of the best shocks out there and can be rebuilt by the company.. now for springs quality an name count unless you want to be bouncing around.. i currently have a ef 4 door with kyb agx shocks set to stiff number 4 and jun coilovers not the best and i am happy.. car drives good over pot holes an handles great on the highway.. not like a racecar but better then stock... but at the end of the day its up to you because there are so many combos out there that you can do
I am running S.techs/AGX's on my crx and have been for a couple years now. It works well for me. Everyone's driving style and road conditions are different, therefore opinions are going to be different.
well I live in Ontario Canada. Close to Toronto. the roads aren't horrible where I live. they aren't too bumpy though, overall it's pretty smooth. I just want a lower ride and tightened up handling. I'd prefer a close to 2.0" drop. The H&R sport springs are 1.8/1.9 which would be perfect. what shocks could I safely match with these? Should I put the extra money for Illuminas or should I just get Tokico Blues or Koni STR.T?

Well I know Koni has the new STR.T's out. I hear they're supposed to be amazing. The most expensive I can go is the Illumina's. I can't afford Yellows. So it's either STR.T, Illuminas or HP's.
Ok, I did some research and I think I'm going to get the Tokico HP's. They're cheaper, and it's just a DD with the odd hard cornering around the country side of town. If I choose the Tokico HP (blues), what springs will I get the best outcome with, Sportlines, S. Tech's, Neuspeed Sport or H&R Sport springs? thanks guys
I'm not thread jacking but I have gc coilovers and konis and the ride is really rough around town. The performance is good on corners but I want a better ride around town any suggestions?

uh , buy koni shocks and get some eibachs , to me theres no better spring company for ride quality , they just don't go as low as Ide like em to.
eh tokico blues are bad , for that amount I would have got koni's but hey , it will be an improvement over stock so who cares really? If you already got em oh well but if you havent I would get koni's and H+r , the ride wont be as nice with the H+r's but if you get the sportlines your ride will be superb , just not as low.

I live in Alaska and have this set

have es bushings also. The ride is great, even if I decide to drive in the winter.

yea. well the conditions in the Toronto ON area probably aren't as harsh and Alaska. Also, I'd rather just save $200+ and get the HP's with either H&R Sports, S. Tech's or Sportlines.
the thing is I've been hearing mixed reviews. Quite a few people have told me, for daily driving, Tokico Blues and H&R Sport springs (or similar springs) will be fine.
