idle problem... ITR w/ 2000 si trans swap into EJ1 coupe
I fully rebuilt a b18c5 and swapped it into a 94' ej1 coupe (obd1 harness to obd2 engine). it came with a chipped p28, which i was told had the stock integra type r basemap on it and is the only way to bypass having to install a knock sensor. it fired up very easily and idled pretty nicely for about 20 minutes while i bled out the cooling system. i tried to raise the rpm to around 1800. when the engine was warmed up, if i gave it too much throttle, all at once it tried to cut off like it was getting choked out. it would always go back to idle around 975 rpm if i feathered off the gas enough. i adjusted the valve clearance to .009in on the intake and .010in on the exhaust like the camshaft instructions said, obviously before i started the motor. i still hear a little valve noise? it has a skunk2 pro series intake manifold and blox stage 2 cams as far as engine stuff goes. one thing i have in there is my old d series injectors. but i have been told by a few people that they would be good enough. eventually the motor starts to shut down loosing idle speed slowly while making a weird noise from the distributor starter area. kind of sounds like a really weird noise that the intake could have made.. really strange like deep sounding grind..
