Hi,

The schematic shows two circlips for the lower ball joint, one 42mm and another one. Do both of these usually need replacing when changing the boot?

I don't want to spend the $ on unnecessary parts.

I did one on my Saab awhile back and remember mangling a circlip but it was a slightly different config...

I think if you have 2 circlips for ball joint, the lower one is the must. When I
was shopping my ball joint, they show me 2 kinds, one is no-name, one is from
Moog, both of them had lower circle clips and neither had upper one clip.

 

you can buy the joints for 25 a pop through honda, why only replace the boots while youre in there?
