Default problems with exhaust sytem on da9

so i bought an ebay exhaust sytem for my da integra. i also got the matching header and downpipe for it too. however, after trying to hook it up, there was about a 4 or 5 inch gap between the catalitic converter and the downpipe. well, i looked up what my problem is and its because there is suppose to be a small section of pipe that is suppose to connect them togeather. well it seems like that part is next to impossible to find so i had my local shop extend my exhasut by welding in and extension piece but the whole fitment on my exhasut really suck because the downpipe and cat hang down so low to the ground. has anyone else ran accross this problem? does anyone know of an exhaust system that does not require that part inbetween the downpipe and cat?

well, unless you plan on buying another exhaust, just try to strap your exhaust up so it doesnt hang so low.

lol wow this is an old thread i forgot about. um.. i got the cat back extended so i can use the stock and aftermarket exhaust manifold. i used to have a ebay 4-2-1 but one of the pipes on the downpipe (2 part) hung lower than the other because the oil pan doesnt have enough room for 2 pipes... anywho, that got smashed up really good so im running stock headers now with no problems. but i kinda want another aftermarket header thats cheap but all of them seem the same. i dont want to throw money into nice headers to have them get smashed

you could make a skid plate, pretty straight forward and will do the job.
