No Spark.
1997 GSR
Checked
-ECU (installed in friends car, started right up)
-Fuse box (bought a used one from a junkyard, still no spark)
-Distributor (Just kinda checked the Cap and Rotor for excessive wear, nothing)
-Miscellaneous Wires (Underdash stuff, everything is pretty much in order)
Story
-Car was blowing the "Intrument Lights/Licence Plate Lights/Tail Lights" Fuse
-Dad took apart fuse box, put it back together, re-installed it. Stopped blowing fuses. Car has no spark, Everything else works.
-Earlier that day, I messed with radio wires, unplugged cruise control as I do not have it anymore, and replaced the ignition cylinder harness because mine was broken. Car ran fine after all this nonetheless.
Help
-What should I be looking for?
-Not EXTREMELY familiar with ignition system of my car. But I'm not stupid either.

I would first begin searching the forums for ''no spark'' as there is tons of information on this issue.
Then I would start checking and testing the ignition coil and the ICM (ignitor)
Then I would start checking and testing the ignition coil and the ICM (ignitor)
start testing the connectors from the ecm and checking for a signal. make sure you have appropriate 12v and 5v references to the appropriate sensors. look for a wiring diagram on here...they exist. could be a bad connection at the ecm fuse too...
Not yet, I replaced the cap and rotor, checked the coil for resistance/voltage and the ignitor chip for voltage, All checks out fine. So now im REALLY stuck. I removed the dash today as to get a better view of the wiring around the fuse box. Can anybody help me identify where (or if it exists) my car's ignition relay is?
where can i find out what the parameters should be for things like output going from pcm to icm and things like> im thinking my pcm is faulty cuz im having electrical issues windows not working all the time speedo not working all the time, lights pulsate, engine pulsate at steady throttle, chugs after shifting and now its no spark at all. i realize we are all looking for this information and should help each other out...im having a mechanic of mine come out to hook a scanner and bring out the power probe to check the pcm and icm. the igntion coil is on the distributor under the protector box have to take off rotor. there not a relay but ignition control mod is in the steering column and connects to the pcm via yellow/grenn wire i believe. check ur fuses too... if you find those parameters for the pcm outputs that will determine, by using a meter or power probe, if the pcm/ecm/ is faulty. please respond if youve had luck since my posts is considerable late.
