95 LS Alarm questions
I bought a DC4 off my friend for cheap...since it was stolen and needed only a couple parts.
Well here is my dilema. I replaced the ignition since the thieves jammed his old one. I redid all the wires the same way it was before.
The car cranks but won't turn over. Even if i remote start it it only cranks also.
But the car does start if i try to remote start it, let it crank, and then put the key in and turn it.
I also tried to undo all the wires that i did on the ignition harness and it made no difference. And remote start would still try to crank even though i took off all the wires.
I was wondering, what could be the problem? There is no uncut wires or anything under the dash. I had all the wires as before and i undid them, and still the same problem.
The alarm on the car is a Viper 791XV btw....
Thanks for all the help, if i could get this sorted out i can finally smog it and drive it.

Your question is confusing...
"The car cranks but won't turn over"???
Cranking and turning over are the same thing.
I would remove the alarm/remote start completely and put the cars wiring back to stock. 94

I meant to say that the car would crank but won't start.
I'm going to try to remove most of the remote start wires. I think it is still tapped in somewhere for the starter besides the ignition switch. Because how else would the starter turn....

just unplug the ribbon harness to disable the remote start so that you don't have to redo all the wires. If you can't get to it disconnect the purple wire I think its is about 14gauge thick.
So it cranks but won't start, check the ignition wire if it is getting the right voltage. does the light on the dash come on when your key is turned to the ignition. Check if you have power to the ecu, check if the ground wire on the thermostat came loose. It maybe the switch on the ignition harness the peace that bolts to the key cylinder at the steering column.

I did some test with my test light...and all the wires on the ignition switch gets power. and no wires or anything is loose in the engine bay, all the grounds is tight.
even at 5volts the test light will pick it up just grab a cheap multimeter from harbor freight.
Another thing that I think is that the remote start relay is not working right. It is not allowing the voltage to pass through from the key side the starter side. Find the starter wire and reconnected it
when you say "the car does start if i try to remote start it, let it crank, and then put the key in and turn it" your saying that you turn the key at the same time the alarm is remote starting it.
