Stock Shock Question
While I was installing my new H&R springs today on my stock shocks, I ran into a problem. I know a lot of ppl have done this before, but I am 99% sure my rear right shock was messsed up from the factory. When I had the sshock off the car and I was taking off the top nut from the shock assembly, it wouldnt come out. It was so tight we ended up stripping the hole on the inside that holds the allen wrench. What a bitch. We had to clamp around the shaft of the shock and twist off the nut w/ the brute force of 3 big guys. What a bitch. Anyways when we got it off, the shock was burred by our plyers. F*ck, ruined one. We continued to do the other 3 and they came off perfectly w/ out any trouble or force. I am freaking pissed, the factory must have torqued that rear right down so hard it sorta bent the threads making it almost impossible to get off. Anyways, instead of buying 4 new shocks i'm just going to buy 2 new rear ones. I needed to know if the stock shocks on the GSR are gas shocks? or oil, or whatever else. Acura offers them for 110 dollars each!
The local NOPI store can get me some KYB's for like 40 dollars each. Don't remember the type but they said it is the same as the stock shock. We just wanted to make sure that the stock shocks werent gas and the KYB's were different, or vice versa.
Please help me out here...
