Default Question about Powder Coating

So I just bought a DC Race Header and was thinking about powder coating it..maybe red or black.. Anyways, is there any performance or like a durability benefit to it? I was just thinking of doing it for looks, mainly because I can do it for cost of materials since my school has everything I need. Any past experience/pictures would be awesome.

Thanks.

Isn't the DC Race Header made from stainless steel? rust and corrosion should not be an issue.

OP - I see no point in powder coating your race header. As far as I know, powder coating will not help the performance of the header at all. You may impress the guy who changes your oil, but that is about it.

The DC race header is made of mild steel, and ceramic coated. Again, no point in powder coating it, it's already coated.

Just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean you should

Side note: would be nice if DC Sports would catch up with the times and have a friggin' web page that's not simply a business card on a URL. Just my opinion

Just make sure you get the correct powder for high temp applications

you will have to blast off the ceramic coating and then use a high-temp powder on the header. there will be no performance gains from doing this. it will be for looks only.

Stainless steel doesn't mean "stainless," or corrosion free, it just resist these elements more. It inevitably it will corrode and rust.
