Need advice on trade
Ok, I've been wanting Honda since like 7th grade. I bought a automatic CRX from a buddy for $200, it went boom. Great times.
I'm now a college freshmen. I drive a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 with S/R package(165,XXX miles)
It's a ok vehicle. Just not a Honda
Well, I'm also from Alabama, which means there is not much a tuner scene(it's here and there)
I need to replace my valve cover gasket, then a guy 4 hours away is trying to trade me his 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE(16X,XXX miles), it's automatic, and needs a TPS, but it runs. It also needs repainting and interior is dirty(bad apparantly) and windshield has crack
Now, what do you guys recommend? Should I try and trade my Zx2 for this Sentra, and try to clean it up, make it pretty, then try to sell it, then attempt to get a (sedan for all) Ciic, Integra, or Accord
or
should I try to sell the Zx2(or trade) for a Honda upfront??
I come to you just asking for advice.

I'm from Alabama too. The "tuner scene" is a lot more prevalent in bigger cities. Moving from Huntsville to Florence was a big shock as far as that's concerned. I personally would just list your car up for sale or trade. That way you cover all your ground at once. List it on here in the classifieds, on craigslist, and on autotrader. I have sold four Hondas in the last three years. All of which I had listed on autotrader and sold within a couple days of posting.
...or you might want to locate one at a used car dealership. Find something older than yours and try for a straight trade.

Yea, I'm from Troy. Only Honda I see worth while is a EG sedan turbo. That's like the fastest Troy probably has. All though a Supra Turbo parked nexted to me and stayed at my gf's apartment complex, I was like woah
But I mean, I'm currently trying to get a job(once again, sucks in small towns), but my main problem is finding a Honda! I see a few on autotrader, either damaged or crappy. I want something four door, but no luck finding Integra around here, accords are easier, but c'mon,an accord? and of course, eg civics around here are automatic and female driven. Idk, I'll try to save up. I might can get $2500 out of my ZX2

sell the ford because there might be hidden issues with the nissan that might turn out more expensive in the end. The nissan does not seem to be worth the time and effort. Try no to use as trade in though because you will get ripped off.

ROFL......when I was in 7th grade I wanted a lamborghini diablo. You need to dream bigger,
You should just save your money, and then buy whatever honda you want. Then sell your current car and have money for go faster parts

Just be prepared to do some driving dude. I got my mint 94 Del Sol Vtec for $3500 from an old couple who were the original owners with full service history. I drove all the way from North Alabama to about middle Ohio to get it.
My 99 fully stock EK hatch I just sold I drove all the way to the Kentucky line to get. Think of it this way. Spend $100 in gas and a day or two of your time to save a more and get the car you want.
