Default HELP....Swapping F22 tranny(auto) into F23 engine

hi, everyone, my tranny died out on me on my 2001 Accord and i was wondering if i could Swap a F22obd2 tranny(auto) into my F23 engine? would it bolt right on? would i have to modify anything?

i would go ahead and buy a F23 tranny but it's just to much and a F22obd2 is way cheaper.

i'm not so surprised that it bolts in fine, but are you sure that the wiring is plug and play?

It'll bolt up but not so sure about the wiring though.

It will NOT work. Only the manual trannys from H series and F series (excluding f20/22c)
are interchangeable. The F22 tranny and ECU work together in completely different ways. I could only see it working if you used the ECU from the F22 and I couldnt tell you if that would even work.

Time to swap for a manny tranny

I am thinking about doing a similar setup, however I was going all the way to obd1. Mechanically, can the f22 obd1 transmission with tcu and chipped p75 ecu, say from a 94 / 95 accord bolt to the f23 engine? If I went this route how much tuning would I need to get it working. It won't make sense if I have to do a full tune, just to get the f22 tranny to work, then retune once I am ready to add mods.

there is no f22 obd2 trans they are ALL obd1 . do yourself a favor and loose the TCU. swap to the 5 speed 99-02 accord auto trannys are **** they all lock up. or better yet just drop a complete obd2 H in there if u really wanna keep the auto

The 96-97 f series was obd2. I am mostly worried about whether it will bolt up in the same spot, ie mounts, and how much tuning to get it running.

Can some one tell me if this will work because I have a F22 trans. and I know someone who needs a 98 f23 tranny. I was wondering if this could be a substitute.

for auto will NOT work, manual WILL work

<F23>
TCU and ECU into 1 single unit

<F22>
TCU and ECU separate units

now if someone was able to successfully convert the F23 from a single TCU/ECU unit to a separate TCU and ECU unit (2 separate units), then maybe

no one as of yet has even tried, i believe.

My 97 accord is OBD2 which has one comupter 3 connector for engine and 1 for trans. all in one setup. OB1 has two. One for egine, ECU and TCm. Now the issue i've heard of is the Shift lock up may not work and the gearing is different between the two. How ever thats it.

I have been thinking just that. I know someone who did an f22 obd2 to an obd1 ecu/tcu combo. The f23 is obd2b with different pinouts, so I need to get the helms and see about that. Find out what goes where, and what I can leave out and still have the tranny work.

i have a 98 auto prelude with stock p5m-a52 ecu, i would like to switch to another ecu so i can go over 6500rpm, i know the tranny cant take it but the engine can but i dont mind blowing up the tranny as i have another. i saw someone use a obd2 f20 jdm ecu once so can i use that ecu or similiar i think it was a p0f or something. jdm f20 auto ecu or what other auto ecu can i use for higher rev limit? i dont want to convert to manual or obd1 as either way is a mission, the immobilizer isnt a problem for me i will just run a wire from starter to battery

I am unfamiliar with other ecus so I don't know what the rev limiters are on other ecus. I don't think going from obd2 to obd1 is that difficult, get an obd1 ecu / tcu and buy a wire harness, rywire.com sells them, among others. Also, seems like a lot of work just to remove the rev limiter, unless you had other plans.
