I dunno if anyone's done this before. I've seen animated tachs, but no boost gauges.

Nice work, but that would be 10X nicer if the pivot point was fixed.

Yeah. It was my first attempt at a gif. Not like it's going on my web page or anything. If it was, I'd fix it. I'll probably fix it later. It took me a whole 20 minutes to make.

Who cares about the pivot point, he should make the dial pop off and some springs and cogs fly out!!

I used Easy GIF Animator and Photoshop 6.1, both of which can be found on Kazaa.

What I did was to remove the needle from the "baseline" jpg and fill in the space. Next, I reopened the original jpg and cut out the needle and made it a new document and rotated it to various positions. Then, I delted the background layer from each (making it a transparency) and cut and pasted the needle to the baseline gauge and saved it as a gif according to where the needle was pointing. I think I used about 15 frames to make that. It's not too hard once you get the hang of it. Hell, if people give me good pictures of gauges, I may start doing them on request.

Just trial and error... Or look on google.com for graphics tutorials.
