I was under the impression that power limitations made this impossible.

You would need a 6th gear VTEC and a much lower level of drag, at least.

I saw a video on youtube of a guy doing it. He opened his doors and flew to Jupiter. His bumper melted off on re-entry but it was cool anyway.

lol you just had to quote his entire post..nice..anyways 5th gear red lines at 134mph, then 6th it cuts out (from experience)..find a way to get rid of that limiter and let me know..as soon as you get back from Jupiter that is..

Why bother going that fast unless your trying to make a "land speed" record breaking car? I've had my car for over 2 years now and I have went over 100 once! LOL

My peak has been about 115...in the fg2 at least. I hit 125 in the em2.

Hondata Flashpro allows you to remove the limiter as well as change your Redline.

158mph with I/RH/E/Cams and a downhill slope when I reached the 140mph mark :D

I'm not sure about 187mph though. I don't even know if it's possible for 187mph for the Si.

Theoretically speaking the Si COULD reach that speed......if there were no such thing as drag. But the faster you go the more drag becomes a factor on the car's top speed. And the simple fact is that the Si just doesn't make enough power to overcome it.

You can remove the limiter if you want and TRY to reach that speed.....but you'll never even come close. The drag coefficient is too high and the car doesn't make enough power to overcome it and reach that speed.....and even if it did you'd have other things to worry about like downforce and keeping the car safely planted to the road at that speed.

I'm not positive of the fastest I've ever driven a car. Over 140...because that's what the speedo maxxed out at. I was bouncing the needle off of the stop so it was probably like 145-150. I've been in a turbo hatch freakmobile that was traveling at over 165, and I thought I was gonna die lol. With the FG, I've hit the speed limiter. Disappointing..lol....all on a track of course.

That reminds me of being in my ex-gfs Chevy Corsica. Where the speedometer only went up to 90mph. And Good God, 90mph in that felt like what 250mph would feel like in an Si.

I've been to 160~mph, but my car isn't stock, and I ran out of track.

I'm going to try again once I get my new tires mounted and find a longer stretch.

I love freaking girls out, switch the speedometer to km/h while accelerating heavily...

No, it is not possible. This car is tuned for economy not maximum top speed.

With enough power, anything is possible.

A tuning is just a tuning. That can always be altered.

Trust me this car was not tuned for economy. At 60 mph my tach is over 3000 rpms.

Ever ridden in a base model C6 corvette? At 60mph we cruised at about 1500rpms. The car's window sticker said 18 city/ 28 highway. Not far off our car's rating of 21/29...Pretty impressive if you ask me for a car with double the power and torque.

Our car is geared for maximum acceleration to make use of what little torque we have.
