Default 92 cable GSR tranny fluid

Whats the options on this transmission? I like honda MTF but have heard it is toooo thin.
Should I go with straight 10w30 standard oil? What should I put in it?????

Bump need some input. I know these cable GSR transmissions are getting more and more rare. It will be for an NA set-up. I want MAX acceleration and MAX reliabilty thats all. LOL
Can someone chime in??

Honda MTF is the best choice.its been 17years now..i have'nt change my tranny oil.still no leak and shift good and smooth.

You haven't changed your oil in 17 years, Honda MTF wasn't even on the market then.

Current MTF is too thin for older trannys, use the Honda recommended 10w30 or 10w40 engine oil.

Use Dino, not Synthetic.

Synchros are just brake pads, would you wanna use something that will reduce the braking effect?

dino oil, comes from the ground and it refined from dead dinosaurs and plant matter.

OMG. But on Club-RSX I was reading that you should only use engine oil in the trans for emergencies!!!



To the OP, like stated, 10w30 is a good base to start with. Depending on climate, you can adjust accordingly to what gives your trans the best results. Just don't use gear lubes meant for hypoid gears and the like. Stick to engine oils / MTFs in a Honda trans.
