some say yes. they've said that they've noticed increased gas mileage, smoother idle, better performance, etc etc. on the other hand, there are people who have proven that stock Honda ignitions can handle much more than stock power output. i say if you're stock ignition isn't causing a problem don't install the msd, unless its free or damn near free.

Please search, this question was just answered within the past two weeks in the Accord section and has been discussed thoroughly in other sections.

I have an 89 Accord A20 engine....MSD blaster 2 coil.
and the car is running.........I want to make
a MSD 6A ignition box work and retain the factory fuel pump and factory tachometer.
-------------------------------------
The stock coil TEC/made in Japan
had 2 wires to each side:
big black/yellow and small blue on one side.

Small black/yellow and small blue on other side.
--------------------------------------------
Distributor is Hitachi with magnetic ignitor
and a black/yellow wire and a blue wire.
Both wires go to the same side of the factory stock TEC coil.
--------------------------------------------
3 wires coming from factory harness:
Big black/yellow
Small black/yellow.
small blue wire.
-----------------------
What I need to know is how to add in
a MSD6A ingition box.......
-----------------------------------------
Given:
big MSD red wire is fused to battery hot.
big MSD black wire is on battery ground.

small MSD orange is supposed to go to coil positive.
small MSD black is supposed to go to coil negative
----------------------------------
To be resolved:
what goes to the small MSD red wire?
what goes to the small MSD white wire?
-----------------------------------------------
I have the drawings for:
-late model Honda distr with internal coil.
-late model Honda distr with blaster coil/cap.
-import cars in general.
-Factory external coil.
-the book "wiring diagrams and tech notes".

Your thoughts, please. Any drawings are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.-Bob
