i need to know how to check the engine light codes, and what each code means
we have a type r swap with a p28 ecu.

Look under the passengers side dash for a small blue clip with two wires running into it. Take a paper clip or a small piece of wire, and plug each end into a slot in it, That'll jump your ecu and flash the CEL with a code.
