A few days ago my 92 civic VX started idling weird. it would go from 500 to 2500 RPM in about 1-2 sec intervals. i checked for vacuum leaks and havent found any. then it started happening while i was driving and effected the throttle and started to jerk the car. i found if i disconnect the TPS the car doesnt jerk. so i replaced the TPS and it still did it... i looked over the wiring, dizzy/cap and rotor and everything seems to be ok.... here is a video of my tach while i was driving

Is the CEL on?

 

are all your sensors plugged in?

 

No CEL's and all sensors are plugged in. the only time my CEL came on was when i disconnected the TPS.

 

ended up being a few things... the wires going to my ignition coil under my cap came loose, and i have a blown head gasket...
