Default Car will not prime!

Ok here is the scoop, when I 1st turn the key right before i start it the check engine light comes on and doesn't go off until the fuel pump begins to prime, correct? Well my car especially when it rains will not prime for as long as 45min at times. This makes me so off schedule when I can just hop in and go I have to wait for the cel to go off to start. So i have to sit there and wait until i hear the click and then the prime. Once it starts it runs good like it is suppose to. I noticed after driving for a little while it doesn't take as long to start/prime. I have checked and replaced main relay, inspected all alarm wires. I am thinking it may be a distributor problem or a fuel pump sending unit. Any Ideas or advice we be greatly appreciated.

yeah...def check the ecu. if it's giving out weird readings it can cause a long priming condition.

check your coolant temp sensor to be sure that is operating correctly as well. if the ecu is reading a whacked signal from that part, it could believe the car is really hot or really cold and do the same thing.

Yeah! You will have to change the ECU.

I'd have to disagree with the others. Your ECU doesn't determine how long your pump will prime for. If you're not even getting a click from the car then that's a relay issue.

My former Ek had that issue ( now my mom's ), except the car wouldn't even click. You'll want to check your other relays and the switch for your ignition ( the key side ).

I couldn't find this by searching so I had to wait until i had time to go through the massive saved pages folder for hondas that I have on my computer.

They have a nice walkthrough on electrical stuff.
