Default Possible fuel pump problem.

I have a 1994 Honda civic Dx. It has the D15b7 motor with 187k on the car. Now, the problem i have is a couple weeks ago when i went to start my car it just wouldn't start. it would act like it was barely getting any fuel. And if i am right i really couldn't hear the Fuel pump prime. But it did start after a couple try's. I kinda just shrugged it off. But Just yesterday it did it again. It turns over just fine, but wouldn't start. But after a couple try's it started up and is still going. Could it possibly be the fuel pump? or something else? the whole car has 187k on it. and as far as i know the pump is oem. Any help would be great, thanks.

Is the CEL ON?

If the fuel pump definitely doesn't prime when the engine won't start, then the main relay is the likely problem. You can replace or resolder it.

no CEL on, and i replaced the cap, rotor, plugs and wires. The Car started and drove fine. than i went out and it attempted to start but didn't. You could tell there was a little fuel at the rail cause it attempted to start but just stuttered and died. And it did that a couple times. I cycled the ignition about five times and than i clearly heard the fuel pump prime and it started right up.

they can start have running problem issues but most of the time they just feel like your running out of gas then die. if its running you can do a fuel pressure test to see if it is getting weak, and there are no sensors for the fuel pump to activate the "check engine light". check the basics first:・ 1) engine oil level. ・ 2) coolant level. ・ 3) pulleys, and belts.

I just checked the oil as it does leak a lil. And everything else is good. I'll check that relay and see if i can find a furl pump pressure tester. i dont have those tools anymore. Thanks for the help guys. If it the fuel pump. whats a good one to go with? i am in the works of rebuilding another D15B7 that will be pretty much stock as i will be going with the Edelbrock turbo turbo kit.
