Ok so i'm planning on doing a swap in my 89 crx first time never done one before the engine i'm getting from my friend is a d16a vtec out of his coupe what all do i need to do this swap? i hear from many it is a pretty simple swap but if someone can help me thankz

 

you sure you put the right engine code...i dont see any d16a vtec engine info at all...are you sure your actually refering to a d16z6 engine

 

No its a d16a sohc vtec my friend said it was a jdm engine but im not sure i was a lil confused too... ok i just went outside and double checked and yupp it says d16a??

 

D16A is a JDM SOHC VTEC engine, same as D16Z6

 

i was close enough with the d16z6

 

You will need the timing belt side motor mount (some slight belt cover cutting)
ECU
OBD-1 conversion

Not sure what trim your CRX is, but you might need to do an MPFI conversion too.

 

find out what trans your using, hydro or cable. i would lean more to the hydro, but i will cost a whole lot more.
