Yakima Roof Rack help for ek Coupe
So recently i bought a Yakima roof rack that came with the fairing and 2 bars. I took it to the nearest roof rack store and they told me that i will need a few things to put it on, these things include:
1. 2 q69 Clips for front bar
2. 2 q70 clips for back bar
3. a stretch kit
I already know i am going to need the clips for sure, but i was wondering if there was a way around getting the stretch kit or will i need it? My car is a 1997 Civic EK Coupe. Thanks for the help.

No, I dont think the stretch kit is a must... Im also looking into getting a roof rack from yakima and when you go to the website, the stretch kit is optional..
Yeah well one thing im trying to figure out too is since im not going to get the stretch kit, do i just get 4 q69 clips and put them on the bars or do i still have to get 2 q69 for the front bar and 2 q70s for the back one?
Anyone know?

Lol honestly who actually USES their racks? I cant see a hardcore JDM guy with a tiny *** civic actually driving around with a mountain bike on their car, on an SUV I could see it. Those racks are 100% for looks on hondas.
Look how goofy this looks.

compaired to not using the rack

yakima.com will tell you part by part
My point is putting a mountain bike on your tiny civic looks so stupid and the racks are made to do that, so people get the racks for JUST looks and dont use them for what they are actually designed for.
Are towers universal? I'm currious cause I was searching around craigslist and I saw a complete set (towers clips fairings locks and rack) but the clip was made for a different car. I was wonndering if I can just buy the clip (q69) and attach that to the towers and call it a day. My car btw is a 97 civ coupe.
yes, you will need 2 69 for front, and 2 70 for rear.
the rear towers mount on the same spot, with or without the stretch kit.
your opinion doesnt matter.
Personally, I think they look pretty sick and I actually have a reason for using mine (mountain biking). Plus, I recommend getting the fork mounts cause they look sick lol.
