So I bought a 92-95 jdm b16 swap back in November of 08 (from a fellow h-t member was a nice guy) thats what I was told as far as info on the motor. I put it in my car and it was running okay, but as time has passed and it hasnt been that long about 8 months, the motor has started to give me problems. The guy who sold it to me said he had freshened the motor up with new seals and stuff. Now onto what the motor is doing, when at a stop light the motor feels like its about to turn off rpm's drop to 100. I also noticed a little bit of black smoke coming from the exhaust and some oil on the side of the vtec solenoid not sure if its my head gasket or my cam seal or possibly even both. Also yesterday I did a lil tune up on the car, did the front brake pads, changed the oil and the spark plugs. This is what really bothered me, when I took out the spark plug on the passenger side there was oil on it and a lot but none on any of the rest and they were all black. The motor is still running just not as it should but I want to get it back in tip top shape. I dont know if they guy who tuned my ecu did it right and maybe thats why my motor is messing up or what but I need help. The motor doesnt have anything special all stock. Any help will gladly be appreciated. Thank you guys hope to hear something good. I'm located in L.A. if theres any nice guys out here that are willing to help me out.

UPDATE!!
I just checked the spark plugs again on my lunch break and theres is no more oil on the spark plugs. but there black already!! does that mean that i need to tune my ecu again??

The engine is running rich (too much fuel) and the VTEC solenoid may be leaking oil. For the latter, replace the seal. We need more info for the former. Is the CEL ON?

 

The only cel I have is for my busted speed sensor. and what seal the cam seal? also I'm sorry but I dont know all the proper terms whats a latter and what info for the former are you talking about also, not sure what that is... Sorry for the questions just want to get my car fixed

as far as the engine goes its a b16 dropped into a em1, bolt ons headers, intake and exhaust. original wire harness is still in the car so I used a jumper harness with a chipped p28 I believe it was running on uberdata.
