Default intermittent high temp reading on B18C1...still

so i was getting an intermittent overheating on my B18c1 97 civic. it seemed a new thermostat was the place to start. so i replaced the thermostat and gasket and properly bled the cooling system. although the problem has gotten alot more infrequent... it still exists. I noticed it the first time since the thermostat replacement, after a "spirited highway run"

Facts:
radiator is not obstructed
radiator fan turns on as it should

any other ideas kids?

could be temp sensor giving false reading, if not that i would look towards water pump being changed or head gasket.

theres no loss of coolant, water pump wouldnt really give an intermittent high temp reading :-\

the coolant sensor could be a possibility, but im still skeptical
