Default rear control arm dumped exhaust

Well, on my way home from work and the old cannon fell apart. Therefore I felt the need to customize(if that's what you call it). I'd like to keep the tail pipe exiting right where it is though. Can I just replace the resonator with some kind of small diameter muffler? Right now it just has a cat and the resonator(i'm pretty sure thats what that is). I need something with a 2.5 inch entrance/exit and not much more than a 3.5-4 inch diameter and a length of 18-21 inches. Anyone care to leave suggestions? I have the money for a new exhaust, swear lol, but I think the idea of a control arm dump is pretty sweet. Right now it's just a tad loud though. **sarcasm** if you didn't catch it...
