i hit 110 in my friend's D16Y7 delsol (intake, headers, exhaust, no A/C, no Power Steering) downhill lol

 

So how much does a GSR top out at? I know alot of you guys have one. 130? 140?

 

~135mph. Anything over 90-100 is completely stupid on the road.

Does adding a turbo increase your top speed or just your acceleration?

Engines don't top out at speeds, it's the tranny that will make the difference.
Turbo, yes, it increases both acceleration and top speed.

this thread is epic failure. my gsr with 4.7 fd doesnt do over 115. who needs top speed its how you get there. amd why the **** do you need to go over 100 on public roads?

 

With an unchipped ECU they all top out ~120MPH.

 

Why are you driving that fast and why do you want to go faster?

Jap limiter will only allow them to go to 180k's ,118mph ,de-limit them and 135-145 depending on the final drive ,they are different in the 96 and 98 spec's

 

your top speed is based on your motor and transmission. You have to have power to top out some tranny's. Like i have a D16Y7 (DX) Transmission on my car. Its top speed is 175MPH. But in order to hit that speed the person who proved it had a built D on 26PSI from a Ebay T3/T04. It takes alot of power to go that fast because of both weight and drag on the vehicle. Most vehicles can do at least 110 these days. I remember when i first got my car and i tried to top it out on this super long empty street and I couldnt even hit 100. Now my car will accelerate to 100 like nothing. Although i rarely take it that fast because its stupid and pointless.
